Ferlinda Locklear

Ms. Ferlinda Slate Locklear, 67, of Pembroke, NC was born on March 23, 1955 to the late Ralph and Tressie Slate. She departed this life on Friday, November 18, 2022. Along with her parents, Ferlinda was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, Mitchell Henderson; her children, Boyd, Melissa, Abigail, and Tracy; and siblings, Annie Goins, Floyd Slate, Carl Slate, and Appie Slate.

Ferlinda was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She was loved by her family and was often the person that her many nieces and nephews looked to for advice and guidance. 

She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Phillip Henderson (Megan) and William Henderson (Victoria); one daughter, Mary Oxendine (Chalmis); two sisters, Elanor Locklear and Wanda Ellison; two brothers, Ralph Slate and Micheal Slate; three granddaughters, Sequoria Oxendine, Caroline Oxendine, and Princess Henderson; six grandsons, Noah Henderson, Dominic Henderson, Kaden Oxendine, Kaleb Oxendine, Brycen Oxendine, and Alek Henderson; a special nephew, Nikolas Ellison; and a host of family and friends.
