With hearts full of love and sorrow, we announce the passing of our precious baby boy, Ezechiel Jansen Oxendine, who was born and entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Though his time here with us was brief, the impact of his life will forever be etched on our hearts.
Ezechiel was a beautiful gift, deeply loved and eagerly awaited. From the moment we knew he was on his way, he filled our lives with hope, excitement, and joy. We marveled at every gentle flutter, every tiny kick, and every heartbeat we heard. Those moments brought us closer together as a family, and we will always treasure the sacred time we shared with him. Though we never heard his cry or saw his first smile, he knew nothing but love during his time on earth. We take comfort in knowing that when he opened his eyes for the first time, the very first face he saw was the face of Jesus, welcoming him into Heaven.
Ezechiel leaves behind a family who will forever carry him in their hearts. He is the beloved son of Nicholas and Chantara Oxendine, and the treasured baby brother of Enich Johnse Oxendine. He is deeply loved by his paternal grandparents, Meta & Shane Hunt and Chris Oxendine; his maternal grandparents, Tara & Jason Oxendine and Billy Chavis; uncles Bret Chavis, Anthony Jacobs, Michael Oxendine, and Matthew Oxendine; and aunt Brittany Jacobs.
He will also be lovingly remembered by his special great-grandparents, Avis Deese, Merdis Oxendine, Wilhelmina Oxendine, and Pastor Eugene & Dorothy Chavis, whose faith and prayers surrounded him from the very beginning. He leaves behind a circle of family and friends who stood faithfully beside his parents through every moment, especially Project Commissioned, who have been a source of strength, love, and unwavering support.
Although our arms are empty, our hearts are full of the love we will always hold for him. We may never see him grow up, but we will carry his memory in every smile, every sunset, and every moment of grace that reminds us he was here. His life, though brief, was meaningful, and his spirit will forever be a part of our family.
Until we meet again, our sweet Ezechiel, rest peacefully in the arms of our Lord, wrapped in eternal love that surrounds you.
