Ethan Patrick Locklear, age 18, was born on December 9, 2007, and entered eternal rest on January 17, 2026.

Ethan was preceded in death by his uncle, Bobby Brayboy Jr.; his grandfather, Leon Locklear; his aunt, Holly Jacobs; and his cousin, Timothy Jacobs.

Ethan was an 11th-grade student at Purnell Swett High School, where he was known for his quiet nature, quick sense of humor, and kind heart. Though soft-spoken, Ethan had a presence that was felt by those who knew him. He had a deep love for racing, a passion that brought him joy, purpose, and community.

Ethan accepted the Lord into his heart in 2019 at Camp Grace of Fairmont, NC, a decision that reflected the faith and values he carried with him.

Ethan was a proud member of the Rockingham race team and earned numerous awards as an outstanding drag racer. On the track, he found freedom, and earned the respect of fellow racers and fans alike. He also worked part time at Deese Body Shop, where he was well loved and respected for his strong work ethic, humility, and willingness to help wherever needed.

Ethan leaves to cherish his memory his loving parents, Patrick and Denise Brayboy Locklear; his two sisters, Kensley and Brielle Locklear, all of the home; his maternal grandparents, Lacy and Barbara Locklear and Bobby Brayboy; and his paternal grandmother, Virginia Sanderson. He is also survived by his aunts Shalasha Hunt, Victoria Sanderson, Tiara Locklear, and Tabitha Locklear; uncles Jeremy Sanderson, Brett Locklear, and Brian Locklear; 11th grade Purnell Swett Classmates, Race Community, host of cousins, relatives, and friends.  

Though his time here was far too short, Ethan’s legacy lives on through the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the passion he carried in his heart. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
