Ervin Cummings Obituary
Mr. Ervin Cummings Sr., 80, of Rowland, N.C. was born on September 6, 1940 to the late Amos and Lucinda Cummings. He entered into his heavenly home on Tuesday June, 8, 2021.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, David, Amos Jr., James and Monroe Cummings; two sisters, Annie Ruth Bell and Noralee Holland.
Ervin worked as a welder and Fabricator for the Shipyards and many other companies. His passions was his family, his music and playing his guitar for his church and traveling with many singing groups including The Cummings Family in younger years.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joyce Cummings of the home; one son, Ervin Cummings Jr. (Sara) of Lakeland, F.L.; one daughter, Darlene Scruggs of Clarkesville, TN; four grandchildren, Diona Scruggs, Justin Cummings, Jessica Cummings, Christine Scruggs; and eight great grandchildren; and one brother, Levi Cummings (Pricilla); and many brother and sister in laws, nieces and nephews.
His last request was his brother Levi Cummings to sing “Take Me Home” at the end of the service.
