Ernie Lowery 78, of Pembroke, passed away May 30th, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born June 27, 1943 to the late Eddie and Docia Lowery.
He was preceded in death by his parents Eddie and Docia Lowery; two sons Eric Lowery and Bryan Lowery; and one grandson Brayslan Bryan Lowery; two brothers Edsel Lowery and Fue Lowery; and two sisters Patsy Holmes and Joann Scarborough.
He leaves to cherish his memories, wife Brenda Lowery of 53 years; five sons Keevin Lowery of Greenville, S.C., Chadwick Lowery, David Lowery Ashley Lowery, and John Corey Lowery all of Pembroke; two daughters Tonya Nichole Locklear of Pembroke and Paula Kay Sowwan of Lumberton; and 13 grandchildren.
Ernie graduated from Pembroke High School in 1962. After high school he went straight into the Navy and served four years. He served our county very proudly. He was in 2nd divisions. He served three tours in Vietnam, Danang.
He came home and went to work at B.F. Goodrich and Converse for several years as a manager. He gave up the plant life so he could help out with his parents on the farm. He then took over the farm and farmed for many-many years. He loved to plant things and watch it grow. He had a green thumb and loved nature.
