Obituary

    Mr. Ernest Chavis age 78 of Fairmont, NC was born November 10, 1943, to the late Earlist and Emma Mae Chavis and departed this life on May 17, 2022.

   Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary Lois Chavis; one daughter, Lisa Chavis; three brothers, Austin “Sandy” Chavis, Ralph Chavis and Martin Chavis.

   Mr. Chavis is survived by, three sons, Dwight Chavis (Teresa), Tony L. Chavis (Daphene) and Michael Wayne Chavis (Debra) all of Fairmont, NC; one daughter, Julie Chavis (Pint) also from Fairmont, NC; two brothers, Bobby Chavis and Howard Chavis both of Lumberton, NC; one sister, Agnes Mitchell (Harry); ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
