Mr. Earnest Locklear, 81, of Charlotte, NC, departed this life on September 11, 2023 at Atrium Health hospital in Charlotte, NC surrounded by his family.
Earnest is preceded in death by his parents, James Norman & Sallie Harris Locklear; his in laws, Mr. William Pinkney & Velma Barnes Hunt; and his sister in law, Betty D, Hunt.
He is survived by his wife, Retha J. Locklear; his son, Prentice Locklear (Ewonna); his grandsons, Braxton & Blake Locklear all of Charlotte; his sisters, Margaret Emanuel of Rowland, Kathryn Williams, Barbara Chavis, Deanna Fischer (John) all of Lumberton, Brenda F. Hunt of Buckhead, and Vicky Hunt (Tony) of Fairmont; his brother, Bernice Locklear (Patricia) of Lumberton; his brothers in law, William Hunt (Alice) of Concord, Charles Hunt of Lake Wylie, Jerry Hunt (Paulette) of Lumberton, and Jimmy D. Galloto of California; and a host of nieces and nephews.
