Earl Thompson Obituary

    Mr. Earl Thompson, 79, of 162 Jack’s Drive Maxton, NC , was born in Robeson County on June 16th,1940 to the late Mr. Dannie and Mrs. Mauldie Thompson of Maxton, NC. He gained his heavenly wings on Friday, August 23,2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 56 years, Mrs. Beatrice” Skipper” Thompson; His parents and brothers Mr. Alton and Mr. William James Thompson and sister Mrs. Virginia Huskey and granddaughter Deanna Londo Mitchell.

    He has left to cherish his loving memory three daughters: Ms. Kristin Renee

Thompson of the home, Ms. Connie Londo of Bryson City, NC and Mrs. Tyler Michelle Locklear and her husband Mr. Garrison Locklear of Maxton, NC. He has two grandsons, Earl Fredrick Locklear of Maxton and Patrick Londo of Chilacothie, OH. Mr. Earl also was the caregiver of a special great grandson Noah Lee Locklear of the home. He also leaves behind three granddaughters, Ms. Kyndrian Hunter, Ms. Angelica Grace and Ms. Lauren Gabriella. Mr. Earl was known as ”Pappa Earl” by his grandchildren whom he loved dearly and was very proud of. He spent the last four years taking his precious babies to school each and everyday.

     He also leaves behind two sisters, Mrs. Katie Samspon (late husband Mr. James Sampson) of Pembroke and Mrs. Betty Dial and husband Mr. Talford Dial of Maxton. A very special brother and caregiver Mr. Bobby Thompson and wife Mrs. Jeannie Dale and a very special brother-in-law Mr. Glenn Huskey with whom he had a special friendship.

    Mr. Earl had a connection with his extended family and friends that could not be explained. He leaves behind sister- in -laws Mrs. Jean Rew (late husband Mr. Jerry Rew) and Mrs. Joan and her husband Mr. Lester Shephardson all of New London, Wisconsin, a brother -in-law Mr. Harold Suprise (late wife Mrs. Marcella Suprise) and a special niece Mrs. Sheryl and her husband Dennis Vandenberg of Shioctin, Wisconsin .and a host of relatives and friends.

    Mr. Earl lived on Jacks Drive for 39 years and considered his neighbors as family. He had two very special dirt road friends Mrs. JoAnn Bullard and Mr. Bobby Hunt.
