Earl Locklear Obituary
Mr. Earl Ray Locklear, born June 17th, 1943, 77, of 150 Starlite Dr. Lumberton, NC passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 6th, 2020 at his home surrounded by his immediate family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Hodson Locklear and Mrs. Naomi Locklear; one son, Mr. James Ray Locklear; four sisters, Mrs. Pansy Sampson, Mrs. Zelma Maynor, Mrs. Juanita Sampson, and Mrs. Ronnie Allen; two brothers, Mr. Thurman and Mr. Willavery Locklear.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mrs. Barbara Locklear of the home; two sons, Mr. Ricky Locklear (Lisa) and Gene Locklear (Debbie); one daughter, Earlena McNeill (Mickey); two brothers, Mr. Carson Locklear (Zillie) and Mr. Hosbie Locklear (Carlan); two sisters, Mrs. Joan Campbell (Douglas) and Mrs. Helen Hunt; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews as well as a multitude of friends.
He will forever be remembered for his smile, laughter, head full of hair and jokes. He never met a stranger and to know him was to love him. Best known as “Papa Earl” and “Uncle Earl”.
