With heavy hearts, we announce that Dwight Douglas Smith, age 75, of Lumberton, NC, was called to be with the Lord on February 6, 2026 at home surrounded by his family. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend. He will be remembered for the multitude of services provided by Dwight’s Construction and the wonderful talented person he was. He had a love for music and was an avid guitar player. He was born on February 1, 1951 to  Auldon and Lila Ann Smith in Robeson County. He will always have a special place in our hearts.

Dwight was preceded in death by his parents, his son Diamond Patrick Smith, and his siblings David, Dwain, and Dean Smith, now reunited in eternal peace.

He is survived by his wife, Dianne Locklear Smith, married 51 years and son Dallas Dwight Smith of the home; his sisters Daisy Lee and Delilah Smith; and grandchildren India Locklear (River Locklear), Starlette Smith, and Diamond Smith (Nakiyah Hunt); nieces and nephews; and a special nephew, Timmy Ledwell, raised as a brother; and a host of friends.

Though deeply missed, we take comfort in knowing Dwight is at peace and reunited with loved ones. What mattered to him most in his last days was being pleasing to the Lord.
