Mrs. Dorothy Lousie Chavis Thompson, age 87, of Pembroke was born June 16, 1937, to the parents, Roy W. Chavis, Sr. and Winnie Bell Oxendine Chavis. She separated this life for her heavenly home on Friday March 21, 2025.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, George Blake Thompson, by her parents, her daughter Yvette Thompson Jacobs, six brothers, Paul Chavis, Sr., George Chavis, Roy W. Chavis, Jr., James Chavis, Robert Chavis, and Howard Chavis, two sisters: Katherine C. Butler and Shelby C. Woodard, and a grandson Gregory B. Locklear.
She leaves a daughter Tonya T. Hunt (Ray) of Lumberton, a son Gene B. Thompson (Susan) of Lumberton, and a son-in-law, Tony Jacobs of Pembroke. Grandchildren: Jeremy R. Locklear (Tina), Misty L. Locklear, Lindsey N. Locklear (Joseph), Megan M. Bailey (Matthew), Rebeccaa L. Jacobs, Garrison B. Thompson, and Gabriel B. Thompson, fifteen great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
