Della R. Hammonds, 78, of Maxton, NC went home to be with the Lord on February 28, 2025. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and grandmother. She loved going on trips with the church, shopping, and going on family trips. She loved spending time with her grandkids and was excited to welcome the first great-great grandson into this world. She was preceded in death by her husband (Shorty), and her brother and sister.
Surviving are her two sons and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. James & Jennifer Hammonds of the home, Kent Hammonds of Pembroke, NC, and daughter Ms. & Mrs. Skylla & Avery Locklear of Pembroke. Her grandkids James A. Hammonds III (Pasack) and Travis Hammonds both of the home. Her great-grandkids: Brooklyn (Billy), Sierra, Summer, Savannah, Allen, Zhra, Jodilyn, and her first great-great grandson: Billy B. McCoII III. Along with two special friends Audrey Cummings and Sylvia Jones.
