David Smith Obituary
David Smith, “Possum” or “Slick”, 71, of Lumberton, NC passed away on April 8, 2026. He was born to the late Bennie Haggins and Jessie Lee Smith on February 4, 1955.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie Haggins and Jessie Lee Smith, two brothers, Larry Smith, and Jeffery Smith, and two nephews Benjie Lee Smith, and Jayden Smith.
David was a member of Elizabeth Heights Baptist Church and enjoyed attending church. He enjoyed riding his golf cart, smoking a cigar and drinking Dr. Pepper. He loved having visitors.
David is survived by two sisters, Rose Hunt (Junior) of Lumberton, Glorise Smith Regins of Lumberton, a brother Jerry Smith (Connie) of Lumberton, a special friend, Robert Chavis, nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
