Dale Fonzie Lockear, 49, of Lumberton, NC, passed away at his home on June 25, 2026. He was born July 7, 1976, in Lumberton, NC to Brenda Freeman Locklear and Wayne Dale Locklear.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. JT and Christine Freeman and Roy Dale “Pop” Locklear, his uncles, Michael Freeman and JD Freeman, and his beloved niece, Mya Locklear.

We all know that Fonzie loved the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and singing and playing his guitar. Above all, he loved praising the Lord.

Fonzie is survived by his parents, Brenda Freeman and Wayne Locklear, his children, Amber Locklear, Trista Hunt, Catori Locklear, Dale Jr., and Melissa , his grandchildren, Ansleigh, Bransleigh, Willow, Grayson, Amara, Elijah, and Kehlani, his loving sister, Brandy Locklear, his brothers, Tommy Locklear (Brandi), Wayne Jr., Brenton (Andrea), Joey, (Brittany), and his loving grandmother, Barbara Locklear (Granny).

He also leaves behind special family members, George, Laura Freeman, Glenda and Travis Thomas, Erika Locklear, Christopher Locklear, Breanna Cummings, Brayden Hunt, Jaxton Clark, as well as uncles, cousins, and extended family members and a multitude of dear friends. Fonzie cherished the friendship of Shawn Chavis, though he was out of town, he faithfully stayed in contact which meant a lot. Although we grieve in the loss of his earthly presence, we rejoice in knowing he rests peacefully with the Lord, where he suffers no more.
