Obituary
Curley Blue, 76, of Rowland, NC was born on September 9, 1945, and began a new life on Monday, May 2, 2022. Curley is the daughter of the late Hubert and Hester Bell Locklear.
She is proceeded in death by her granddaughter Shawnesty “Shell” Powell, her sister, Doll Blue, and her two brothers Wilmer “Kiser” Locklear & Hubert “Tangum” Locklear.
Curl lived a full life, enjoying all of her favorite things: fishing, collecting Elvis memorabilia, vacationing in the mountains, visiting Graceland, feeding her family, and weekly trips to the salon. To know her was to love her. She was strong willed and was never afraid to take a stand for what she believed and for those who she loved.
At the age of 19, she married her childhood sweetheart, Vernell Blue, and they spent a further 56 years happily married and sharing a beautiful life together.
Her legacy will live on through her four children: Bridget Locklear, Brandie (Mario) Carter, Jody (Audrey) Blue, and Azelea (Casey) Locklear. In addition to being a great mother, she is loved by 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and a tribe of family and friends.
