Mr. Clyde Louis Locklear, 76, of Pembroke, NC, was born November 26, 1949, to the late Mr. John B. Locklear and Mrs. Revie E. Locklear. He went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 17, 2026.

Mr. Clyde began his career as a lineman in 1969 and went on to build a distinguished 34 ½ year career in the paper and forest products industry-starting with Boise Cascade in 1974 and continuing through Weyerhaeuser and Willamette before retiring from International Paper in 2010. Whatever the task, he gave 100% at whatever he was doing. At 25 years old, Clyde gave his life to the Lord and remained steadfast in his faith throughout his life. His faith was the foundation of everything he did. Prior to his sickness, he attended many churches over the years and devoted much of his life evangelizing and sharing the love of Christ with all who crossed his path. When Clyde wasn’t working, you could likely find him on the golf course alongside his best friend, Jerry Oxendine. He also took great pride in his yard, keeping his lawn neat and beautiful- a small but telling reflection of the care and dedication he brought to everything in his life.

Mr. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, John B. and Revie Locklear, his brothers, Quince Locklear, Frankie Locklear, Jackie Locklear and his sisters, Lucy Chavis and Elsie Locklear.

He leaves behind his high school sweetheart and wife, Donna “Jean” Oxendine Locklear. Their marriage of 55 years welcomed two daughters, Nicole C. Collins (Tim), LaDonna L. Locklear, and one son, Clyde “Brandon” Locklear (Elena). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Gavin Locklear, Jacob Locklear, Ashton Locklear, Jaelyn Locklear, and Triston Lowry; three brothers: Glenn Locklear, Johnny Mack Locklear and Ronald Locklear; one sister: Mary Helen Locklear; his lifelong friend, Jerry Oxendine; and many family and friends who loved him. 

He was blessed with exceptional care over the years through the compassion of his Gentiva Hospice nurse Tammy Jones; social worker Laiken Locklear; and devoted caregivers, Rosie Hunt, and Allison Hunt, whose kindness and dedication brought him comfort throughout his illness.
