Reverend Chico Oxendine was born on May 21st, 1977 to the late Neal Archie Oxendine Sr. and Barbara Chavis and entered into his
Heavenly home on March 1st, 2021 completing his journey of 43 years.
Chico was a loving and supportive husband. He was known in the community as a good son, father, uncle and friend. His passion in life was to help others make heaven their home. He always sowed a seed into someone’s life. He was a skillful carpenter and loved working with his hands. Chico was the owner and operator of Waymaker Construction.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Corinthia and Dewey Oxendine; his maternal grandparents, James Franklin
and Marjorie Chavis; three brothers, Derek Oxendine, Toby Oxendine, and Neal Archie Oxendine; one sister, Toni Oxendine; and a niece, Brandi Oxendine.
Chico leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Bernadette (Dolly) Oxendine of the home; one son, Chicoby Oxendine; one daughter, Chaquioa Oxendine; one stepdaughter, Nahayla Locklear of the home; his mother, Barbara Chavis; one brother, Tim Oxendine and wife Renee; six sisters, Mary Oxendine Brayboy and husband Jerry Brayboy, Margie Oxendine and husband Ronnie, Barbara Rumsey and husband Steven, Miranda Oxendine and husband Jim, Linda Chavis, Angela Oxendine. Marilyn Lapira Oxendine sister in-law; A special friend, Demont Hunt and his spiritual mother Charlene Locklear. Chico has a host of relatives and friends.
