Carson Hunt, 74, of Lumberton, N.C., gained his heavenly wings on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025, at Chapel Hill, N.C. He was born Sept. 11, 1951 and preceded in death by his "Granny",the late Ida L. Jacobs, his mother, the late Elmira Hunt Norton, along with his sisters, the late Flora Norton, Shirley Jacobs, Carolyn Lee, and his brothers, the late Sonny Norton, Joe, Howard, and Tom Jacobs.

     He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 20 years, Barbara Quenga Hunt, his beloved children, Flora (Andrew) Carswell, Sabrina (Garrett), Stiltner, Sophia Hunt,Malani Ten (Allen) Rider, Trisha (Armon) Paulino, and his son, Derek Paulino. His sisters: Helen Collins, Mary Lee, Brenda (Donnie) Jacobs, Phyllis (Edward) Jacobs, and Rev. Cathy Jacobs, his brothers: Kenford and Leon (Connie) Jacobs, his grandchildren, Veronica, Victoria, Melea, Michael, and Alex, along with a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends, and his special protector "Chloe".

     Carson was a graduate of Fairgrove High School, class of 1970, and a veteran of 24 years, where he served with unwavering dedication, courage, and unbreakable commitment to duty in the U.S. Army. Throughout a distinguished career marked by integrity and excellence, he embodied the highest values of the Army (loyalty, selfless service, honor, and courage). From the earliest days of his enlistment to his final years as a Senior Leader and First Sergeant, he demonstrated professionalism and a deep sense of responsibility to his fellow soldiers.

     Across nearly a century of service, he was resilient and steadfast even in adversity. His career is a testament to his personal sacrifice and enduring patriotism. The impact of his service continues in the lives of the soldiers he mentored, the mission he supported, and the example he set for future generations in the U.S. Army.
