Carol Jane Locklear Obituary

Carol Jane Locklear, born August 29, 1941, entered her eternal rest Sept 10, 2025. She was the cherished daughter of the late Robert and Eva Jane Locklear and the devoted wife of the late Curtis Locklear. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Robert Earl, Billy Dean, and Tony Locklear.

Carol’s life was marked by strength, grace, and an unshakable love for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of faith and kindness that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her. To cherish her memory, she leaves her sisters Edith Deese and Molly Rodgers; her brothers Johnny (Mary) and Earl Ray (Darlene); her three sons Kent (Amber), Jamey (Anita), Robert; her daughter Wendy (Donald); twelve beloved grandchildren—Graham (Ashley), Forrest (Savannah), Katelyn, Brianne, Kelsey (John), Angelica, Codi (Rebekah), Gavin, Michael, Matthew (Chloe), Jasmine (Alex), and Corey—and fourteen great-grandchildren, Harper, Greyson, Kevin, Kivan, Kazier, CJ, Chelsey, Graceson, Maebry, Mia, Mason, Maliyah, Jaxton, and Melody.

Carol’s triumphant spirit, her dedication, and her unwavering devotion to her family will never be forgotten. Her legacy is written not only in names and generations but in the love, she poured into every life she touched clearly represented among us here today.

Proverbs 31:30 Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that fears the Lord, she shall be praised.

The legacy of a woman who fears the Lord is a light that cannot be dimmed. Carol’s legacy is more precious than rubies. She was a rare treasure whose value will outlive her years. What set her apart was not outward charm or fleeting beauty, but her reverence for God, that became the foundation of her entire life.

Her fear of the Lord was not fear in the sense of dread, but deep awe and devotion. From that place flowed wisdom, strength, and grace. She rose each day with purpose and worked with willing hands. She gave with an open heart. Her diligence blessed her children and grandchildren, her compassion reached the poor, and her courage allowed her to face the future with confidence. She wore strength and dignity like a garment, and her words carried kindness that healed and uplifted many.

Her legacy is written in the lives here today that she touched. Her children, daughter-in-laws, son-in-law, grand and great grandchildren rise today to honor her life; her brothers/ sisters speak her praise. But her impact extends beyond her family. The fruit of her life ripples outward—her integrity, generosity, and faith has become a testimony that will continue to inspire others long after her race has been won.

The word of God reminds us that beauty fades and charm can deceive, but the woman who fears the Lord leaves behind something eternal. She did not chase applause, yet her works speak for her. She did not live for recognition, yet her example continues to shine. Her legacy is not in what she owned, but in who she was: Carol Jane Locklear a woman of faith, strength, and unshakable devotion to God.

This is the true inheritance she leaves behind—the pattern of a life surrendered to the Lord. And that kind of legacy never dies.
