Carol Jean Dial was born in Robeson County to the late Eddie Lee and Elizabeth Locklear on August 16, 1955. Raised in Baltimore, MD, she graduated from Patterson High School. In 1996 Carol Jean and her family moved to Rennert, NC where she would soon meet and marry the love of her life Robert Earl. Following in the footsteps of her beloved mother Elizabeth, she attended and later joined Bethel Hill Baptist Church. This is where many Sundays and Wednesdays were spent in worship. Carol Jean loved her church and especially the ladies from the “Birthday Club”. Thursday night dinners were her favorite. Her time of employment began at Smithfield and ended at the Robesonian where she truly enjoyed working, going in early and staying till the job was complete.
Carol Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Lee and Elizabeth, and one brother, Eddie Locklear, Jr.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert Earl Dial of the home, bonus son, Gabriel with three grandchildren and a great grandchild, a sister, Linda of Maryland, with three nieces and nephews, Paula, Tonto, Keith, a great niece Keri, Zaedon, Zoie, Lil Tonto, Darien, Destin, Lil Keith, Brandi (Nick), Ava, Andrew, one brother, William Nelson (Lorelle), William Nelson, Jr., Emily, and Michelle, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two very special Aunts, Mary Leane and Christian, as well as a host of cousins, friends and coworkers.
