Cannan "Nunk" Reid Scott, born on December 29, 2009, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center and peacefully departed this Earth on October 12, 2025 at the age of 15.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Patricia Kotuski; paternal grandparents Robert and Martha Scott; and two maternal aunts, Tamitha Kotuski and Nicol Cummings.

Nunk is survived by his loving parents, Tracy Scott of Pembroke and Philip Scott (Tonya) of Lumberton; three devoted siblings, Harley "Dus" Jones (Kasey) of Red Springs, Riley Scott of Lumberton, and Alex Scott of Lumberton; his maternal grandfather Richard Kotuski (Donna) of New Jersey; a special aunt, Shirley Deese, and one special niece, Kinleigh Nicol Jones, who brought him endless joy and aggravation.

Nunk had a deep passion for his sneakers. His love for collecting and rockin' his sneakers were more than just a hobby, it was part of his personality and confidence. Each pair reflected his creativity, individuality, and sense of style.In honor of this: his sneakers are displayed by his mother in remembrance of her baby, Nunk.

Nunk had one of the kindest souls with a heart full of compassion and eager to help everyone in need. Nunk had a special place in his heart for the elderly and along with that came a gentle respect and patience. Helping others wasn't something he had to think about; it just came natural for him.
Recognition is something Nunk never sought. He had a true love for people and as a result everyone who met Nunk loved him in return.

Nunk had a quiet way about him, not loud or seeking attention, but yet somehow, through the quietness, his presence spoke volumes. In addition to the ability to lift anyone's spirit, he was able to charm everyone with that big, contagious smile of his. Nunk has left behind a legacy through the shared stories of how he touched other's lives with his kindness, humility, and a heart that always put others first.

Nunk will be missed and remembered not only for who he was, but especially for his compassion, how deeply he cared for others, and the warmth he left with everyone he met.
