Brenda Gail Chavis, 75, was born April 21, 1950 in Robeson County, NC to the late Willie and Katherine Hunt. She departed this life peacefully at home on March 7, 2026. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Willis Hunt, Finnis Hunt and Douglas Hunt, four sisters, Eloise Hunt, Virgie Davis, Evelyn Meyers, and Kelsie Sanderson, and one great grandchild.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 53 years, Ancile Chavis, Sr, sons, Ancial Chavis, Jr., (Dana), of Chesapeake, Va, and Jason Chavis of the home, two daughters, Katherine Spangler of the home and Yolanda Thompson (Terry, Sr) of Lancaster, SC, twelve grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one on the way, one brother, Charles R. Hunt (Nancy) of Monroe, NC, two sisters, Zeddie Emrich of Greer, SC and Gwendolyn Roithmeyer of Stallings, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Brenda loved the smell of gas!! (Planes, Trains, Automobiles, and Cruise Lines). She also loved Pow Wows, collecting antique glassware, and anything turtles.
