Bobbie Dale Locklear, better known as “Bookie”, 85 years old, was born on July 14, 1939, in Robeson County, to the parents of Belton Locklear and Shane Hunt. Bobbie entered his eternal home on March 17, 2025.

Bobbie is proceeded in death by his father and mother, his wife Marion Kirby Locklear, five brothers, Wade Locklear, Willie Locklear, Roy Locklear, George Locklear, Harvey Locklear, and one sister, Geraldine Sizemore.

Bobbie Leaves six children, Maryann Locklear, Cornileus Locklear, Bethann Locklear, Bartemas Locklear, Abigail Jacobs, and Seqouya Porter all of Lumberton, N.C; 23 grandchildren, and 30 great grandchildren to cherish his memory.

Bookie was known as a provider and a shelter for so many. If there was a way to make something out of absolutely nothing, he was the one to do it. He never let anything beat him. Though he was as crazy as they come, & always tried to make everyone laugh, he didn’t fail to teach us all the true value of family and hard work, amongst a ton of other values, we all carry to this day in our way.
