Obituary

Mr. Bobby Allen 'Al-bone' Chavis, 59, of Fairmont departed this life on Saturday, April 23rd, 2022 at home. He was born in Lumberton, NC on December 11, 1962 to the late Bobby & Evelyn Chavis. He was proceeded in death by both his parents; a brother Lee Chavis; and a son Jason Oxendine.

He leaves to cherish his memories three daughters Carla Schmale, Shannon Schmale, and Amy Jacobs (Nick); one son, Shawn Schmale; three brothers Larry Chavis (Mary), John Chavis (Ann), and Jimmy Chavis; three sisters Mattie Lacy (William), Sabrina Chavis (Woodrow), and Theresa Ingram (Ronald); 16 grandchildren and one great grandson; along with a host of nieces and nephews. He also leaves to cherish his memories a long term girlfriend, Roberta Oxendine.

Al-bone, as he was so affectionately called, loved his family, the Dallas cowboys, and fishing with his brothers and children. He will be missed dearly.
