Billy Fields

Billy Chesley Fields Sr, 84, of Greenview Acres Subdivision, Lumberton, NC departed this life on March 24, 2025.  He was born in Robeson County to Henry Shelton and Maude A. Scott Fields on May 1, 1940.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Hardy, Troy Lee, Golden, sisters, Ruth, Margaret, and grandson Bailey Ryan Fields.

Mr. Billy was well known during his time as everyone’s trusted insurance agent and for Fields’ Produce.  He loved his Farmall tractor, gardening, selling produce, and his beloved Tarheels and Redskins.  Family was priority and many of his friends became family.  The family would like to say “thank you” to his faithful customers he served for many years.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 61 years, Angela L. Fields, three sons, Billy “Chuck” (Brenda), Mitch, Ryan; one daughter, Kristy.  Grandchildren, Evan Fields, Olivia Spaulding, Logan Fields, and Rileigh S. Hunt; one great-grandchild Jhett A. Hunt; and a host of relative and friends.

The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to the wonderful employees of HealthKeepers that made our father’s final days peaceful, comfortable, and provided exceptional care.  Your dedicated service did not go unnoticed!

As believers we know that death is not the end,

but rather we know that it is then that we enter into the presence of God. 

Daddy hasn’t left us behind, he just crossed the finish line before us.  We’ll see you soon Pops!
