Mrs. Betty Sue Jones, 92, of U.S. 301 North, St. Pauls, went to be with the Lord on May 29th, 2025, at GlenFlora Nursing Home. She was born February 19th, 1933, in Robeson County, North Carolina. For 22 years, she served as a teacher’s assistant for the Public Schools of Robeson County. Betty dedicated much of her life to being a devoted mother and wife. Her faith in Christ was of the greatest importance to her, and she was a member of Ten Mile Center Baptist Church. Over the years, she served as a Sunday School teacher and song leader.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Robert “Bob” Jones; her parents, John and Gladys Locklear; her siblings, Johnnie “Buck” Locklear, Bobby Locklear, and Pat Foster.
Betty leaves behind five children; Jerry (Gloria) Jones from Pembroke, Fred (Evette) Jones from Indian Trail, Cynthia (Victor) Hunt from North Canton, Ohio, Paula (Reid) Greene from Vass, and Eric S. (Cathy) Jones from St. Pauls; a brother; Ronald (Katherine) Locklear from St. Pauls; six grandchildren; Chad Jones, Charles Jones, Rebecca Greene, Melissa Greene, Caitlin Hunt, and Erica Jones; four great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Ten Mile Center Baptist Church. Rev. Jimmy Hammonds will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Revels Funeral Home in Lumberton.
