Benjamin Dougles Eddings, Sr. was born in Marlboro County, on December 22, 1945 to the late Joseph Eddings and Geneva Freeman Eddings and was born into eternity on Thursday, January 19, 2023, completing his journey of 77 wonderful years.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Anne Ruth Hammonds and Lucy Bell Eddings.
Mr. Benjamin Eddings is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Locklear Eddings of the home; six children, Ricky Clark and wife Anne of Red Springs, William Eddings of Lumberton, Benjamin Dougles Eddings Jr, Christopher Chavis, Cindy Chavis, Jonathan Eddings and wife Shari all of Fairmont; three sisters, Flossie Eddings of Pembroke, Lasette Clark of Lumberton and Molly McMillian of Maxton; one brother, Robert Eddings of Pembroke; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Mr. Benjamin was a great man and father. He always tried to make everyone laugh. He worked as a construction worker, carpenter and mechanic. He was a man of man trades. He enjoyed drag racing and fishing.
