Barbara Simpson Obituary
Barbara Jean Brewer Simpson, 79, of Lumberton departed this life on April 24, 2021, at home. She was born October 10, 1941 to Wilton and Nella Brewer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilton and Nella Brewer; her husband, Ira Jefferson Simpson; a granddaughter, Cecily Simpson; and great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Locklear.
She was a loving mother, wife, sister, and grandmother. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra S. Chavis (Ricky) and Diane S. Locklear (Jerry); four sons, Arliss Simpson, Ira Joe Simpson (Jody), LeRoy Simpson, and David Simpson, all of Lumberton, NC; sisters, Shirley B. Jones, Stella B. Shumate (Kenneth), Wanda B. Demery, all of Lumberton; five, brothers, Darnell Brewer, of Rowland, Wilton Brewer, of Winston Salem, Johnny Brewer (Karen), of Mississippi, Jimmy Brewer (Elaine), of Walnut Cove, Roger Brewer, of Winston Salem; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
