Austin Locklear

 Mr. Austin Douglas Locklear was born on February 17, 1943 and departed this life on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.

Austin was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Colonel Locklear and Ms. Macie (Trixie) Locklear; his son, Austin Douglas Locklear Jr.; his brothers, Otis Locklear, Alfonse (Al) Locklear, Bernell (Jap) Locklear, James Charlie (Bud) Locklear, Reedy (TB) Locklear, and Julius Locklear. Austin was also preceded in death by his only sister, Yvonne (Ball) Locklear Sanderson.

Austin is survived by his faithful and loving wife, Mrs. Annie A. Locklear, of 53 years, his devoted grandson, Jacob D. Locklear, his affectionate great granddaughter, Cora Mae Locklear. Austin was also survived his dedicated brother, Colonel Locklear, Jr., a host of loving family members and numerous caring friends.

Austin moved from Pembroke, North Carolina to Detroit, Michigan to make a career as a pipe fitter for almost forty years. Being a diligent worker, Austin provided a home for his wife and family in Detroit Michigan and provided a retirement home for himself here in Pembroke North Carolina. After his retirement in Pembroke, Austin would often return to Detroit, sometimes for weeks at a time, to continually build upon the family bond because there was no doubt that Austin loved his family! In the end, Austin professed his faith in God before he departed this life.
