Annie Neil Locklear was born June 4th, 1952, and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Locklear. She was preceded in death by her husband Mr. James Edward Hunt (Pete), two sisters Mary Ruth Chavis and Jane Locklear, three brothers Ray Fairly Locklear, Frank Jr. Locklear, and Kendall Locklear, one grandson Hezachi Oxendine.
During her career Annie worked at Converse Manufactory for 20 years before earning her undergraduate degree in Sociology on May 8th, 1993, at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She later earned a Master of Education Degree on May 10th, 2002, at Campbell University in Dunn, NC. She was a guidance counselor with The Public Schools of Robeson County and loved her profession of counseling until the time of her illness. She also served as a member of New Prospect Holiness Methodist Church and was a young adult Sunday School teacher.
Annie loved her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Annie leaves to cherish her memories through her daughters Annita Locklear, Stephanie Locklear both of Pembroke, Keisha Hunt of Fairmont, NC, one Goddaughter Caroline Roger of Maryland, three sisters Joyce Campbell, Geanette Locklear, and Mable Clark of Pembroke, eight grandchildren Kelvin Locklear, Joshua Locklear, Tiffany Lowery, James Earl Lowery, Austin Hunt, Morgan Hunt, Jaylon Hunt, nine great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and loved ones.
