Allen Lloyd

Allen Lloyd, 88, of Philadelphus Road, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023 at Scottish Pines Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Laurinburg. 

Allen was born in Robeson County, NC on September 14, 1934 to the late Fuller and Eudell Locklear Lloyd. Of the eight children born to that family, he was the last living survivor. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Normaie Locklear Lloyd; son-in-law, Michael Ray Strickland; and his siblings:  Catherine Lloyd, Polly Bethea (Jim), Lorraine Revels (Deas), Alton (Buck) Lloyd (Lillian), Margie Chavis (Zack), Alene Jones (Howard), and Melvin Lloyd. He was a carpenter by trade all of his working life, employed by Fluor Daniels/Fayetteville Works for over 26 years.

Allen is survived by his children, J. Trent Lloyd and Lori Ann Strickland; his grandchildren, Michael Allen Strickland (Yessie) and Loren Danielle Brigman (Justin); and his great-grandchildren, Tatiana Sophia and Liam Michael. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was always giving Godly advice to his many nieces and nephews. Allen was faithful in service to New Prospect Holiness Methodist Church, teaching Sunday School and helping in lawn and building maintenance with his two buddies, Robert Brayboy and Alex Strickland.
