Willie James Jones

Mr. Willie James Jones, age 54, of Lumberton, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center.

Mr. Willie was born on December 24, 1962 in Robeson County to the late Willie R. Hunt and Priscilla Jones and his other mother and father, the late “Dunk” Carter and Cora Lee Jacobs of Lumberton.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Matthew Chavis, Dwayne Chavis and Bobby Jones. He worked for Porter Scientific where he served as a supervisor for numerous years.

Mr. Willie leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 23 years, Bonita Jones of the home; a son, Jerry “Papa” Oxendine of the home; a daughter, Brittany Townsend (Jason) of Lumberton; two special grandchildren, Brianna Townsend and Jaydon Townsend both of Lumberton; six sisters, Dede Sinclair (Roy), Diane Chavis (Donald) both of Lumberton, Joanne Jones Locklear of Fairmont, Charlene Hunt (Jack) of Rowland, Patsy Jones (Don) of Wagram, Shirley Hunt of Fairmont; six brothers, Leon Jones (Alicia) of Rowland, David Hunt and Thomas Hunt, both of Lumberton, Stanley Locklear (Rowland), Ricky Hunt and Willie “Jap” Hunt both of Lumberton; three special Godchildren, Elijah Melvin, Lance Spaulding and Jenna Chavis all of Lumberton and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family that he loved and adored dearly.
