Willie Chavis Obituary
Mr. Willie Chavis, 89, of 2330 Lowe Rd Lumberton, NC departed this life on Sunday December 2, 2018.
Mr. Chavis was born on July 31, 1929 to the late Leander and Mary Liza Chavis. He was a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. His paintbrush touched many families homes and hearts throughout the community. No matter where you saw him he had a smile on his face and loved to brag on himself. He loved his family, his church and most importantly Jesus.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra “Debbie” Chavis; seven brothers, Willie Lee Chavis, Roosevelt Chavis, Alfred Chavis, Lacy Chavis, H. Wallace Chavis, James W. Chavis and Herdman Chavis; sisters, Zadie Ray Locklear and Sylvania Locklear.
Surviving is his wife, Ella Rose Chavis; three sons, Franklin Chavis of the home, Michael (Carolyn Sue) of Lumberton and Andre (Christina) Chavis of Benson; his sister, Annie Maynor of Lumberton; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
