William Chavis Obituary
William Henry Chavis 88, of Pembroke, NC went home to be with the Lord on April 7, 2018 at his home surrounded by his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Evans and Mary Hunt Chavis; his loving wife of 58 years, Effie Chavis; a son, Larry Chavis.
He leaves to cherish his memories two sons, Jerry Chavis (Lucy) of Red Springs, NC and Ronnie Chavis (Denise) of Maxton, NC; four daughters: Betty Johnson (Anthony) and Kathy Hunt both of Pembroke, NC, Darlene Mansfield (Perry) of South Port, NC and Marie Locklear (Marcus) of Rowland, NC; two brothers, Edens Chavis of Rowland, NC and Rev. James W. Hunt of St. Pauls, NC; one sister, Lizzie Locklear of Lumberton, NC; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; a special cousin, Lora; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
