Mr. Wade Lee Carter, 90, of 174 Bollinger Avenue of Lumberton, was born July 26, 1927. He departed this life on December 1, 2017 at his home.
Mr. Carter was a faithful member of the Saddletree Church of God, a member of the Young at Heart Club and actively involved in the Sunday School Men’s Bible Class. He was a master carpenter and one of the most humble men you would ever meet.
Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his father and mother, David Carter and Amanda Chavis Carter; his wife, Hilda Ray Carter of over 50 years; his wife of his youth, Berline Locklear Carter; his brothers, Jeff Carter and Thomas Carter; his sisters, Lucille Thompson, Aggie Burnett, Carolina Locklear and Claire Mae Carter; one son, Wadus Carter; two grandsons, Travis Carter and Bruce Carter and a great grandson, Tristin C. Hunt.
Mr. Wade leaves to cherish his memories, three brothers, Boyd Carter, Elsie Carter and Elbert Carter of Lumberton; two sons, Ronald Hunt (Cynthia) of Pembroke and Jerry Carter of Lumberton; three daughters, Shirlean C. Hunt (James Ertle) of Lumberton, Judy C. Ramey (Michael) of Cumming, Ga and Cathy C. Chavis (Donald) of Lumberton; 18 grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
