Purdie R. Oxendine

Mr. Purdie Ray “Boss” Oxendine 80, of Pembroke, NC was born October 12, 1938 in Pembroke, NC. He left his earthly life to his eternal home on the morning of August 31, 2019.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Earnest and Roberta Oxendine. 4 brothers John, Marlie, Luke, and James; and 5 sisters Illa Mae, Lenore, Ethel, Gertrude, and Mattie.

   Mr. Oxendine was a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church since 2011.

   Mr. Oxendine is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Mrs. Shirley Oxendine of Baltimore, Maryland; One sister, Mrs. Evie McFarlane of California; One brother, Mr. Remer “Barney” Oxendine of Pembroke, NC; One Daughter, Sondra Ann Oxendine with husband Donald Gene Oxendine; and one son, Timothy Ray Oxendine with wife Sue Oxendine. 3 Grandsons, Gene Alan Oxendine, William Shaun Oxendine (Fiancé: Jerri Lowery), and Andrew Blake Oxendine (Wife: Jessica Oxendine); 1 Granddaughter Miranda LaRae Oxendine (Fiancé: Richard Lyon); 8 Great-Grandchildren Addison Lyon, Jocelyn Oxendine, Ronlyn Oxendine, Shauniya Oxendine, Malaya Lyon, Chayson Locklear, Emma Oxendine, Roman Lyon, and a host of relatives and friends.
