Mrs. Eva Mae Sampson, 73, of 3445 W. Carthage Road, passed away Saturday January 20, 2018 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Sampson was born in Robeson County, NC on November 2, 1944, a daughter of the late Tommy and Ida Mae Jones Strickland. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. James Earl Sampson and a son, Tim Sampson. Mrs. Sampson was employed with the Lumbee Tribe of NC for fifteen years.
She is survived by two sons, Don Sampson of the home, Larry Sampson (Betty) of Rowland; two daughters, Sherry Sampson Brooks of Pembroke, Teresa Sampson Oxendine (Kevin) of Maxton; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Strickland, Evonnie Tyler, Ruth McGee, Yvonnie Sampson all of Lumberton and Nancy Wilcox of St. Pauls; brothers, David and Earl Strickland both of Lumberton, and a host of family and friends.
