Mr. Melvin D. Chavis, Jr. (Papa), 19, of 3310 Hwy 710 S, Rowland, NC, departed this life on Wednesday, September 5, 2018. Melvin (Papa) was born on January 6, 1999 to Melvin Chavis Sr. and Crystal Locklear.
He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Anderson and Isabella Chavis, grandfather, Tommy Locklear, Uncle Joshua Council Sr. and cousin Jeremiah Locklear.
Melvin (Papa) leaves to cherish his memories, his father, Melvin Chavis Sr.; mother, Crystal Locklear (Belton Locklear – stepfather); four sisters, Alexis Chavis, Sabrina Chavis, Harley Jacobs and Charisa Locklear; one brother, Tommy L. Hernandez; one stepbrother, Xavier Locklear; grandparents, Betty Council (Daily Council) and Wanda Locklear and a host of aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
He was loved by a very special person, Logan Wilkins; special ladies, Penelope Carter and Willa Wilkins (Miss Grandma); special friends, Gary Locklear, Noah Wilkins, Dakota Locklear, Jeremiah Locklear, Nehemiah Locklear, Troy Lindsay, Nathaniel Oxendine and Oryan Hunt.
