Mr. Jerry Wayne Lewis, 66, of Lumberton, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019, at home surrounded by family.
He was born June 12, 1952, in Lumberton, NC, to the late Rowland and the late Maggie Lee Lewis.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Raiford Lewis and two sisters, Ann Lewis and Linda Rose Lewis.
He is survived by his wife Lorraine Chavis Lewis, of the home; two daughters Michelle Lewis Hunt of the home, and Trish (Eric) Locklear of Red Springs. He had 6 beautiful grandchildren, Ashley (Jorge) Guerrero, Kirsten (Tommy) Hunt, Ashton Locklear, McKenna Locklear, Gabriel Hunt, and Brittany Benton, also one great-granddaughter on the way. Mr. Lewis is also survived by three brothers Larry (Rose) Lewis of Lumberton, NC, Terry (Joyce) Lewis of Lumberton, NC., and Larry Lewis Jr. (Jennifer) of Lumberton, NC; two sisters Ellen Kay (Jimmy) Bass of Fairmont, NC and Teresa Faye (Lindsey) Benton of Lumberton, NC; four sisters-in-law, Mary Lewis of Dawsonville, GA, Nancy Allen of Eden, NC, Romay (Freddie) Allen of Eden, NC, Jean (Joey) Allen of Warsaw,NC; two brothers-in-law, Nathan E. Chavis of Lumberton, NC and James (Edna) Allen of Magnolia, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins that he truly loved. Two nephews that were dear to his heart are Samuel Lewis of Lumberton, NC, and Rodney Lewis of Little River, SC. Also, a special friend Katie Jones of Lumberton, NC.
