Mr. Hilton Jacobs, 70, of 166 Tyner Road, Lumberton, entered into eternal rest Sunday, July 28, 2019, at home.
He was born in Robeson County on December 4, 1948, to the late Lee and Cora Lee Bell Jacobs. He previously worked in the textile industry as a Supervisor for Guilford Mills in Lumberton. His life was spent loving, taking care of and providing for his family and loved ones. In his later years, he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He enjoyed his service and dedication to his church. He never met a stranger and when asked how he was feeling, always responded, “I am Blessed,” with a smile.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Cora Lee Bell Jacobs; his brothers, Dallas Lee, Jimmy Allen, Dalton, Clyde and Sanford Jacobs; his sisters, Sally Jacobs Callahan, Ludahlia Wilkins and Bonnie Jacobs Wilkins; and by his grandson, Hilton Jacobs III.
He is survived by his daughter, Kayla Lynn Jacobs of Fairmont; two sons, Hilton Jacobs Jr. of the home and Jimmy Lee Jacobs of Lumberton; the mother of his children, Betty Jane Locklear Jacobs; 6 grandchildren, James Taylor, Caitlan, Hayleigh, Madison, Chaselon and Zyler Lee Jacobs, all of Lumberton; his sisters May Ola Locklear and Cora Etiska Strickland of Lumberton and Irene Wells of Wilmington; his brother, Daniel Jacobs, of Lumberton.
