Helen Ruth Campbell

Helen Ruth Campbell, age 84, of Rowland, NC passed on to be with the Lord on Friday, December 20, 2019.

    Helen Campbell was born in Robeson County, NC on January 3, 135. She was a daughter of the late Sam Hunt and Maggie Jones Hunt Campbell. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Rev. Thessely Campbell; three sisters, Eldis Hunt, Annie Ruth Wassel, Aggie Nora Hunt; four brothers, Henry Lee Hunt, RD Hunt, Jimmy Hunt and Jerry Hunt as well as two son in-laws, Guy M Scaggs and Michal W Dwyer.

    Helen Campbell retired from Rand and Rand Company as a seamstress in Philadelphia PA. She traveled the Pow Wow circuit with her husband selling hand crafter Native American jewelry. Most importantly, she was known as a women of God with incredible faith and was often requested to pray for the sick. Ms. Helen was a member of Grace Baptist Church of Lumberton.

    She leaves to mourn her passing four daughters, Sarah Ruth Scaggs, Nancy Harris and her husband, John, Betty Jean Dwyer, Brenda Campbell Phy and her husband, Allen; 10 grandchildren and 23 great- grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Lou Hyatt, Martha Jane Karopchinsky, Rosemary Hunt; four brothers, Wilbert Hunt, Johnny Hunt, Larry Hunt and Samuel Hunt; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
