Genova Carter Holmes

Mrs. Genova Carter Holmes, 96, 0f 588 Wire Grass Road Lumberton, NC passed away on April 28, 2018. She was born in Robeson County on January 12, 1922 to the late Lizzie Locklear and Jim Carter.

Mrs. Genova is preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Holmes, and also her first husband James Nunny Locklear, two sons, Jimmy Holmes and James E. Locklear, two daughters,  Dorothy L. Smith, and Mary Beth Morgan, one brother, Douglas Carter, one sister, Luverta Carter, six grandchildren.

Mrs. Genova is survived by one son; Billy Holmes (Donna Rena) of Lumberton, two daughters; Jan Lamb and Arleena Lowery (Winston) of Lumberton, NC.  24 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, 78 great- great grandchildren.

 Mrs. Holmes left a living example of love just the way she taught it. The love and tender compassion she was given by her granddaughter Karen Lamb Locklear the family would like to thank you.
