Gene Autry Emanuel

Mr. Gene Autry Emanuel (Bruce) 78, of 244 Mt Olive Church Road, Lumberton NC departed this life on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Southeastern Hospice House.

He was born July 22, 1940 in Robeson County, a son of the late Willard and Annie Emanuel.

   He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Emanuel. He was also preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, three sisters, two grandchildren, Donavon and Sarah Emanuel.

   He is survived by three sons, David Emanuel and wife Peggy Emanuel of Lumberton, Billy Emanuel of Lumberton, and Autry Emanuel of Raleigh; four daughters, Carolyn Sanchez of Laurinburg, Wanda Locklear and husband Samuel Locklear of Lumberton, Flora Briggs and husband Donald Briggs of Wake Forest, Brenda Locklear and husband Michael Locklear of Maxton; two sisters, Mary Lois Chavis and Margaret Harrison of Lumberton, two brothers, Jesse Emanuel and Glenn Emanuel of Lumberton;  sixteen grandchildren and twenty seven great  grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. Bruce loved his family especially the children and his two special dogs Sandy and Coco. He also enjoyed the outside and going to church.
