Elsie Pounds Obituary
Mrs. Elsie Mae Pounds 65, of Union Chapel Road, Pembroke was born March 3, 1954 to the late Winnie Jane Sampson Oxendine and John Hugh Oxendine. She departed this life on September 20, 2019 at Southeastern Hospice House surrounded by family.
Elsie was preceded in death by a daughter, Marion Locklear; husband, Bobby Pounds; one brother, Eugene Oxendine; two sisters, Winnie Pearl Brown and Pauline McNeill.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Spencer Oxendine, Jr. (Samantha) of Lumberton and Hosea Oxendine of Pembroke; two daughters, Nancy Locklear of Florida and Karen Oxendine-Juarez of Pembroke; sisters, Shelby Lowery, Anita Oxendine, Peggy Locklear and Brenda; brothers, Bobby Oxendine, Gary Oxendine, Larry Oxendine, John Bradley Oxendine, William James Oxendine and Truman Chavis; twenty-one grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of family and friends.
