Bobby Griffin

Mr. Bobby Griffin was born April 30, 1947 and left his earthly home for his heavenly home on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at the age of 70.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lessie and Myrtle Griffin; a sister Maudie Elizabeth Griffin Hall; brothers, Leslie Griffin, Jr. and Early Ray Griffin.

Bobby leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife of 51 years, Christine Griffin; three children, Anthony D. Griffin and wife Edwina of Lumberton, Bobby Wayne Griffin and wife Buffie of Lumberton and Tina Griffin Harris and husband Dwight of Raleigh. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Trae, Cole, Lily, Bradlei and Brennan Griffin. He was a brother to Grace Britt, Retha Mae Stewart, William Marshall Griffin and James Ray Griffin all of Lumberton. He leaves one aunt, Carmable Revels of Pembroke and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends.

After graduating from Magnolia High School and serving four years in the United States Army, he earned his college degree from Pembroke State University and was founder of Griffin’s Accounting Service. He retired from Robeson Community College where he served as Vice President of Business Affairs. Since retirement, he has worked with Wayne Griffin, CPA each year during the tax season. Bobby was an active member of West Lumberton Kiwanis Club and a lifelong member of New Point Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and formerly as a Deacon. Bobby’s biggest passion in life was his family and he found great pleasure in helping others. He enjoyed traveling and any gathering that included family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday at New Point Baptist Church. Burial with military honors will follow in New Point Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 til 9:00 pm on Thursday at Revels Funeral Home Lumberton.
