Betty Lois (Jacobs) McGirt

Betty Lois Jacobs McGirt “Money” 95, of Lumberton departed this life on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 12:41pm.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Edmond and Mary L. Jacobs; her husband James E. McGirt; brothers Martin Luther, Johnson, Pete, James and Bobby; sisters Mary Lee Jacobs, Madgie Locklear and Eula Barnes; children Mary Catherine Brewer, Sarah L. Heater, James Jr., Cathy Smith, Patricia Locklear and three grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memories her five children Veronica Graham (Billy Ray) of Rowland, Teresa Wilkins (Vick) of Red Springs, Cynthia Britt (Gary) of Pembroke, Lawrence McGirt (Nancy) of Lumberton and Terry McGirt (Ann) of Fairmont; 25 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren; three sisters, Geraldine Clark and Peggie Oxendine both of Pembroke, Magaline Locklear of Rock Hill, SC; her brother, James Jacobs of Philadelphia;  her life-long best friend Reba Sanderson of Lumberton and her special Jacobs nieces and nephews.

She was a faithful member of Liberty Holiness, a supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed. 

In lieu of flowers our mother requested that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
