Betty Lois Locklear was born April 7, 1939 in Lumberton, North Carolina to Ambrose and Vergie Locklear. She married her best friend and love of her life, Welton Locklear Jr. on January 20, 1956. Together they had 2 beautiful daughter’s Irlene Locklear and Betty Jane Scott .
She has always been a shining example of humility and respect. Her smile would illuminate the room. Mrs. Betty accepted Christ 43 years ago and continued her walk with him until her last day. She was a devoted member of Mission Church in Pembroke, North Carolina. Her Life was a living example of the Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 – “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ”.
On January 23, 2018 Mrs. Betty made her grand entrance into her heavenly home.
Mrs. Betty is survived by her husband of 62 years Welton Locklear; her daughters Irlene Locklear of Red Springs and Betty Jane Scott (Elmer) of Raleigh; grandson Phillip Locklear (Erica) of Red Springs and Travis Locklear; granddaughter Ashley Locklear (Adam) of Red Springs; Great-grandsons Phillip Locklear, Mikey Locklear, Michael Locklear, Harley Locklear and Aiden Rozier; brother Ambrose (Joyce Ann) of Lumberton and her sisters Molly Jacobs, Christine Bullard and Mae Annice Locklear of Pembroke. Along with a host of relatives and friends all of whom she loved and touched dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ambrose and Vergie Locklear; brothers Billie Locklear, Justin Locklear, Jerl Locklear and sisters Emily Tyler, Joelin Strickland, Catherine Lowery. Betty was an inspiration to all who knew her.
