Rosie M. Moore, 96, of Rowland, NC, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, March 23, 2018, surrounded by her devoted daughters who served as her caregivers until the end.
Rosie was born in McDonald Township, NC, on Feb 5th 1922. At the age of 17, she married the love of her life, the late Artis Moore, on May 13, 1939 in Dillon, South Carolina.
Rosie was a hard worker. She worked tirelessly on the family farm for many years. She loved sewing, canning, cooking and baking for her family and the community. Her homemade biscuits and apple cobbler could not be imitated. Unbeknownst to her, Rosie was a natural comedian. Even without trying, her words of expression would make us all laugh.
Rosie had a sweet, warm, generous personality and genuinely loved people. If anyone was ever in need if she had the means to assist, she did so without hesitation. Her love for others moved her to work as a private duty nurse for many years, providing care to others.
At the age of 89, Rosie was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses at Salisbury Assembly Hall. She was a faithful servant up through the time of her death.
Rosie was predeceased by her parents, Willie and Grace McEachern; her loving husband of 75 years, Artis Moore; devoted son, Thomas Moore; and loving siblings, Lena McArthur, Sallie McKellar, William McEachern, Helen Sellars and Howard McEachern.
She leaves behind her loving daughters, Annie Louise McCallum, Annie Ruth Bell, and Loisteen Owens; daughter-in-law, Ruth Moore; brothers, David McEachern, James McEachern, and George McEachern; sisters, Sarah McArthur and Lois George; as well as five generations of grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
