Mr. Lance E. Allen, 35, was born in Robeson County on Feb. 27, 1982. He departed this life on Monday, January 22, 2018 at home in Fayetteville. He was preceded in death by his “daddy”, Morris “Man” Oxendine, Jr., his brother, Scottie Derek Oxendine; his grandfathers, Morris Oxendine and James Cox, Sr.; his grandmothers, Queen Ella Pierce-Allen and Eller Rese Cox. Lance is survived by his mother, Wanda Oxendine of the home; his father, Franklin Cox of Lumberton; his paternal grandparents, Vashtie and Ronnie Morgan of St. Pauls, and Eva Oxendine of Lumberton; his brothers, Patrick Cox of Pembroke, James Michael Cox and James Cox of Lumberton and Franklin T. Cox of Shallote and a host of loved ones and friends. Those who knew Lance knew he loved life. He loved to travel. He loved family and he always knew how to put a smile on your face. He was straightforward and he kept things “in his word, 100 %.” He appreciated the many countless things that was always done for him. He will always be remembered by that beautiful smile on his face. Funeral services will be held 8:00 Thursday evening at Bethel Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Hammonds and Rev. Horace Oxendine officiating. Burial will follow 2:00 pm Friday at Robeson Memorial Park. The family will receive friend from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Bethel Hill Baptist Church.
