Melba Jean McKeithan

   Melba Jean McKeithan,"Mema",  79, of Pembroke, NC, was born on January 19, 1938 and departed this life on  January 4, 2018.

   She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Civil McKeithan, from Abbottsburg, North Carolina and her longtime companion Knox Thorndyke.

   She is survived by six children, Phyllis Conner (Billy), Rocky Brisson, Rory McKeithan (Diana), Natalie Johnson, Mark McKeithan, and Hope Strickland (Gary); 8 grandchildren, Heath Conner, Chasity Conner West, Matthew McKeithan, Paige Morton, Victoria Johnson, Megan Johnson, Taley Strickland, Jenna Strickland; 9 grandchildren and her brother Millard McKeithan of Jersey, Georgia and a host of relatives and friends.

   To those who loved her, she was famously known as Ma-Melba and Mema.

   A memorial service will be held 4:00 pm Sunday at Revels Funeral Home Chapel Lumberton with family visitation to follow.
